About the authors Marianne Louw has a Masters degree in Leadership and an Honours degree in Communication, and is doing her Doctorate in Interpersonal Leadership Communication. She also lectured at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and the Vaal Triangle University of Technology. FranzŽl du Plooy-Cilliers holds a Doctorate in Interpersonal Communication and is the Head of the Faculty of Applied Humanities at the Independent Institute of Education (IIE). Before joining the IIE, she headed up Communication & Media Studies at Monash South Africa and lectured at UJ for several years. She is a programme evaluator for the Council on Higher Education (CHE).
