In this new edition, the focus is once again on combining Parkin’s expertise and international perspective with local examples, knowledge and context.
Economics: Global and Southern African Perspectives 3rdedition aims to change the way that students see the world and open their eyes to the “economic way of thinking”. It is the ideal book for university students learning core principles of micro- and macroeconomics.
Furthermore, all figures and tables have been replaced and adjusted to display South African data and rand equivalents, and some study plan problems and applications have been adapted to better reflect the South African environment and context. The “Reading between the lines” feature reflects on topics such as inflation, youth unemployment, income inequality, the effects of political shocks on the South African rand, and the affordability of biofuels.
