Chasing the Wind

Set in Plettenberg Bay, this sensitively written story explores loneliness and friendship and the need to find one’s own identity. ‘Wading through the clear water in search of rare pansy shells, Jodie thought of her father. Every time she bent over to take a closer look at the shells on the sea floor, the waves broke around her ankles, clouding her vision. “I hope my Pa isn’t as hard to find as these pansy shells,” she thought wistfully.’ Jodie’s aunt and uncle can’t understand why she so badly wants to find her father. Alone in her sadness, Jodie reaches out to Grant, and finds in him a true friend who understands what it’s like to grow up in an unconventional family.
