It was Mrs Mogwera who found the newspaper advert about the Kagiso Holdings interviews for Dirk. So that’s where he was, on the morning of 13 September, his eighteenth birthday. But it wasn’t an interview like you’d expect. The conference room was full of other applicants all sitting at rows and rows of desks. Like school all over again!
