Writer, journalist and occasional comedian Marianne Thamm recounts her unconventional life story. Her German father had supported Hitler and married her Portuguese mother in England, before they immigrated to South Africa at the height of white rule. The story is sad at times, deeply moving and, like the author herself, hugely entertaining.
