Storyboard stories and little books to make for the classroom. Storyboard stories are an alternative to flannel board stories. They provide the same storytelling enjoyment but they are easier to assemble. Instead of cutting and gluing felt pieces to make a character or an object, just colour the blank line-art story pictures. Student creativity and organization are highlighted in this language arts lesson, as students create storybooks to enhance their reading and writing skills. Included in this unit are: “Hannah’s Toque”, “Douglas Fir Tree”, and “How the Animals Found the Sun.” This Holidays lesson provides a teacher and student section with reading passages, activities, and storyboard stories to create a well-rounded lesson plan.
